Following the untimely passing of Pam Howard in February 2021, Bisee Books has provided a substantial donation to help construct a reading and activity room adjacent to an existing small library in the city of Banos, Tungurahua Province in central Ecuador. The room will be called “The Pam Howard Reading and Activity Room” in Pam’s memory and the project is being overseen by Ana.

This is an English translation of the video:

“This old historical building in Banos (a city in the middle of Ecuador) has re-opened its doors as a library to encourage reading for the children and young people.  The library is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and the families from Banos are invited for free.

The local children and young people are very excited as work has just started to construct an adjacent reading and activity room to this little library with the help of finds from BISEE Books.  This is going to be called the Pam Howard Reading and Activity Room in memory of Sarah’s mother who sadly passed away in 2021. This new room will allow for many new and exciting activities. “

Another project was to create Reading Corners in 10 orphanages in and around Quito. Girandula is overseeing the project. New books were purchased each of which will have a sticker inside acknowledging the donation by BISEE Books and in memory of the 5 girls. 100 - 200 books were delivered for each corner depending on the number of children and a commemorative plaque placed on the wall.
