ABOUTAsia Schools

In early 2017, Graham and Kay visited Cambodia and Vietnam. They were very moved by the plight of the Cambodians following the Vietnam war and, more particularly, the Khmer Rouge in the mid 1970’s. Approximately 2 million people out of a population of 8 million died during the 4 years of the Khmer Rouge rule. Those who died were primarily the educated and the intellectuals. The country has still not recovered.

Graham and Kay travelled with a local company called ABOUTAsia Travel which is owned by an Englishman called Andy Booth. The profits from that company go to a charity called ABOUTAsia Schools which supports the education of approximately 53,000 underprivileged children living in the Cambodian countryside.

Bisee Books has provided additional resources to ABOUTAsia Schools to enable them to build Rooms of Languages and Arts to support the teaching of reading and English.
